Gleneagels Intan Medical Centre's cardiac catheterization laboratory provides specialists with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to assist in diagnosing and rectifying abnormalities of the heart. In the area of blood vessel imaging, cardiologists use Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA), which is a less invasive technique than conventional Angiography that uses X-rays as a medium of imaging. This MRA technique is used to evaluate blood vessels in the body for stenosis (abnormal narrowing) or aneurysms (vessel wall dilatations, at risk of rupture). It is performed without the use of any injection and thus is a non-invasive and painless procedure.
Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre is also equipped with the latest generation of flat panel Cath Labs with digital images. The latest generation intra vascular ultrasound enables an ultrasound of the coronary artery as well as the study of plaque morphology.
